I heart faces - Best Face Photo 2011

I haven't posted a photo to I heart faces in soooooo long! Since photography is now my business, I thought I'd join back in on the fun. The theme this week is Best Face Photo of 2011. I knew almost immediately which photo I would use. Glynis, my daughter, has my favorite face in the world. Mostly because I just love her so much!

If you'd like to play along with their photo challenge, here's the button to click!

I Heart Faces - Bundled Up

Spring has finally started to arrive here on the East Coast, but for some reason, Iheartfaces decided to have a winter theme this week. It's been quite a while since I've played and I've actually already had this pic on my blog before, but it's soooo cute, I thought the whole world should see it again!

Come along and play TOOT YOUR HORN TUESDAY tomorrow!!

I Heart Faces - My Face

I heart faces' theme today is Best Face Photo and the idea is that we're not suppose to use an old photo. Since it's freezing outside and Glynis won't let me take her picture, here's a webcam shot of ME! :) I used Picnik to do a little editing. I love how I'm able to soften my wrinkles and make my eyes sparkle. I used the 1960's feature because I liked the colors that it brought out. Check out Picnik! It's loads of fun.
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Toot Your Horn Tuesday!

I Heart Faces - Maui Sun

I Heart Faces is such a fun website. I love learning a bit about photography when I have time. The weekly challenges are fun.
Here's my entry for this weeks theme "Sun Flare."
Didn't even know what sun flare meant in reference to photography, but I figured I was bound to find one in my Maui photo album. I'm in this picture, so I didn't take it, but it is my camera and I did the editing!

Hope you'll come back tomorrow to join Toot Your Horn Tuesday!!!

I Heart Faces - Blue

This week's theme is blue. I think this picture qualifies!!

It's a new day and a new way of life since my Step-Dad's passing. The service for my Dad was Saturday and it was beautiful! I'm not going to linger in sadness, but I'm going to greet this change with a positive attitude. I know that God has a special plan for all of us!

Come back to my blog tomorrow and play along with Toot Your Horn Tuesday. Click here for instructions. I hope you'll join me!

I Heart Faces - Candid

I haven't played along with this is such a long time! This week's theme is
CANDID
I flipped through my picture library and found this one taken at my parent's house while we celebrated Glynis' 2nd birthday in July. From a photography standpoint, there is nothing significent about this photo, but these are faces of people that I love. My Mom hugging my daughter and my dear Dad smiling at them. My Dad will be gone to heaven any day now.

You can imagine the significence of his smile.

I Heart Faces - Feet

Seems like I haven't visited I Heart Faces in forever.
I stopped by this morning and discovered that this week, all cameras are aimed at
FEET

So, here we have several feet captured on film. Actually, this is funny because there are very few pictures of me in our family photo albums! At least my kids will know I was there. Or maybe they'll just look back in 50 years and say
"Who's feet are those?!"

And it's Monday! Get your Toot Your Horn Tuesday posts ready and come back tomorrow!!

I Heart Faces - Favorite Face

Blurb Photo Book Contest
Amateurs/Beginners Category

I'm not exactly a beginner, because I've been taking pictures of my children for almost 17 years, but I'm definitely an amateur!! Here's one of my favorite pictures ever. It's Glynis (last summer) looking like she's posed for an Ivory commercial.

I am submitting this photo into the www.iheartfaces.com Blurb Book photo contest. I am granting I ♥ Faces permission to use my photo in a printed version of a book for commercial use and possibly advertising of a photo book on both the Blurb and I ♥ Faces web sites.

I Heart Faces - The trampoline

One of my favorite places to be with Glynis is our trampoline....

2 entries this week for the I Heart Faces Photo Challenge.
Here's the kid entry, Glennie & Me:

And the adult entry is just me:

By the way, that's me holding the camera for both photos! I used Picasa for editing. Love that simple program by Google!

I Heart Faces - Pout

Yes, that's Glynis again. Hair straghtened and a couple of pig tails. She was obviously not happy with the fashion statement that her mother forced upon her.

I Heart Faces - Green

"The Incredible Sulk"

This is my lame entry to the weekly I Heart Faces photo contest. The theme this week is "green." Something in the picture has to be green and special props go out to St. Patrick's Day themed photos. Since I wasn't feeling very creative today and Glynis wouldn't cooperate, I just made the whole picture green. :)

Wednesday I'm posting a Spontaneous Thought Explosion. So start thinking, write something and come back to link up!

I Heart Faces - Messy

Here's goes my second post to the I Heart Faces Photography Contest. This week's theme is "Messy" so since it was bath night, I let Glynis eat Spaghettios with her hands. That was easy except that although I scrubbed and scrubbed her face, she still has a little orange glow on her cheeks.
The cool thing about this weeks submission is that the I Heart Faces Site is hosting a beginners contest for us "click and shoot" people. I like to think that I'm not a complete idiot when it comes to taking pictures, but actually I have no idea what apeture means nor do I know what most of the settings on my camera are for. I do have a photo editing program on my computer, but I mostly just use it for red eye and cropping. So tell me what you think of this photo. The winner of this contest will be awarded an online photo editing program. I'd love to win it, but I'd be equally happy just to learn a little something about picture taking.

I Heart Faces

A bunch of my blogging buddies turned me on to this cool website - http://www.iheartfaces.com/

Their weekly photo contests are fun and the only requirement is that your photo submission has a face in the picture. After weeks of viewing all the cool pictures, I've decided to submit my own (actually taken by Grandma.) I'm a crummy photographer, but I do have an abundance of kids in my home who happen to be quite photogenic. There are adult face contests too!

So here's my baby once again. The contest theme is black and white.
Glynis' face is beautiful in any color!!

I think I'll start snapping away for the next contest. You should join in the fun too!
