Wildlife Rescue

So, I've been away from my computer having much fun and many adventures....Here's the latest adventure.

Our owl came back today.

Hello Leah!

Just wanted to give you an update on the Great Horned Owl!

As you saw in the pictures, the right eye is abnormal. It's nonfunctional and the veterinarian and I are concerned about possible issues down the road like glaucoma. The left eye and her hearing however, are VERY functional! :)
Her injuries were probably due to trauma, and most of the time this type of injury is caused by a vehicle strike.
She's going to stay at my facility in VB, continue to recover from severe weight loss and parasites, and we'll see what her eye is going to do long term.

Time will tell if she can be released.

I want to thank you for being there for the owl. People like you are why these wild creatures get the care they need as quickly as possible!
