Toot Your Horn Tuesday - My Un-Crafty Years

I've had some really "crafty" years, but right now I'm in the middle of my "un-crafty" years! I'm so excited about how many people are playing along with Toot Your Horn Tuesday, but I've realized that they're all tooting about the same things! Crafts or DIY projects.

When I was in my 20s and 30s, I did all kinds of stuff. Sewing, painting, refinishing, re-purposing etc. I don't think it's my age that's made the difference. Just my time schedule. I have no time for that stuff right now. But I dream of the day when I can once again sit down and CREATE!

Oh, I've done some DIY projects around the house recently, but only because I couldn't afford to pay someone.

How about any of you other non-crafters? (nothing against the crafters.) Have you done something amazing this week worthy of "tooting?" My biggest accomplishment this past week would have to be the fact that our house has stayed clean!! It's amazing how motivated I am. Now that the house is on the market, it absolutely has to stay neat and so far, so good. This Saturday is our first Open House! I'll be taking time to go over the house with a fine tooth comb and get it even cleaner! You know, organizing closets and cabinets. UGH!

Ok, onto Mister Linky, but one more thing. If you are playing along today, you must ABSOLUTELY leave a comment! I'd like to know that everyone is playing along for fun and not just advertising their crafts. (although I love looking at all the pretty things.) Please go through the list and comment on the other participants' blogs too. That's the fun of it!!

Happy Tuesday!

Hi there! Just found your blog through Its So Very Cheri. Thanks for throwing this party. I've added your button to my blog.

I know what you mean about non-crafting phases. When I worked, there was no craftiness at my house. Now I'm "retired" (SAHM) & I guess I'm making up for lost time!

Found you as well through so very cheri - and am happy to post today - although i am a craft nut, it would be so neat to read more about other activities as well - i am hoping my post today fits what you are asking for -- proud to share my little story with everyone! happy tuesday!

I go in and out of stages but usually find something crafty to keep me going! Most of my crafts are made to decorate within my budget. Good luck with your house and thanks for hosting!

Selling a house??!! Ugh! I can't imagine. They'll have to bury me here, with all my stuff. Thanks for the McLinky!!

I wish I had something non-crafy to post, but alas! Thanks for hosting.

Great post! I am at a crafty time in my life now, sort of, but we all go through different seasons! Good luck with your house sale.

Thanks for hosting the party! For me, crafting is a way of relaxing, I hope that you find time to do it again soon!! Have a great day!

One of the reasons I am glad that I started blogging is that I make sure that I Have time to craft now. Before, I put stuff of and never started them. Now, if I want to post a few times a week, I need to keep on truckin'.

Thank you for hosting the link party! SO many links to browse! I wish I didn't have a heaping pile of laundry staring at me right now, lol.

Hi Leah! Thank you so much for hosting Toot Your horn Tuesday. I always look forward to participating but sometimes due to time constraints forget to tell you tell you how much it's appreciated. Hope your house sells super fast. Pat

OMG, I wish I could say my house stayed clean, but with 3 kids, it's never going to happen.

I love to craft, but after Christmas, I was lazy. I was just starting to get that feeling of wanting to again, when I broke my tailbone last week. I was BORED in bed yesterday, though, and made a ribbon & tulle wreath for Valentine's Day.

Thanks for hosting the party. Sorry, all I have is a craft today. I love seeing what everyone else is doing.

Thanks, Leah, for hosting! I love seeing what everyone else is crafting. Gives me inspiration, ya kno?

Leah, the funny thing is, that I feel the same way, of not having enough time to craft. But you just need to squeeze some crafty moments into your schedule because it keeps you up in the downing, depressingly hectic times. Plus I am absolutely sure of the fact that you miss it a lot! For me this is like going to the hairdresser or some spa...it relaxes me and disconnects me after which it recharges my energy! Time is relative, you can master it! Good luck with that, hugs

Now that the little one is in school and I am not teaching as many yoga classes, I have more time, but I just don't have the skills to do all the DIY stuff that I would like to! I would love to refinish furniture.

I used to be creative, too. It's just NOT happening anymore!

I guess my biggest accomplishment these days is that I'm in a big reorganizing mood. I've bought all of my storage bins at Walmart, bought a label maker, and I'm now in the middle of cleaning out the basement, closets, drawers, etc. It's a big job, but I'll be glad when everything's in order!

BTW...I really like the pic you took of yourself!

I am a crafter but I hope you like the project.

I'm not super crafty so I like your idea of Toot Your Own Horn. My blogging partner linked up her DIY kitchen remodel which is incredible & I'm linking up my grocery store savings. :) Haha, trying to keep it diversified like you like.

this is my first visit here. My submission is a craft. Maybe your are changing direction and that's all good too. I am anxious to see if there will be some new blogs here that I have not connected with before and some new inspiration for a girl that is wondering what direction she wants to go in next. Thanks for hosting.
